Liz, oh so true, and we lived in Delaware for 20 years so I get the cultural palette difference. As I work thru local natural colors I will increase their saturation and work on color palettes that are not so gentle to appeal to the Texan market. But since this is a teaching blog I thought it worth mentioning the issue. Natural dyers of the past used chrome, mercury, titanium, zinc and other hard metals to push/pop colors. I chose to skip the metals and keep the natural dye safer for me. One does have to make those market/health choices.

thanks Sandra, I think she has a color preference for bright….and doesn’t know enough yet about natural colors to fit them into her gallery plan. It’s my job to educate and continue to promote natural dye art pieces. Without dinging the chemical dyes….
